How your Pixexl site gets found by search engines and AI

Updated

People find businesses in three ways now, and each has a name:

  • SEO (search engine optimisation): showing up in Google's and Bing's list of results.
  • AEO (answer engine optimisation): being the answer in a featured snippet, a "People also ask" box or a voice assistant's reply.
  • GEO (generative engine optimisation): being mentioned, correctly, when someone asks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or Perplexity.

They mostly reward the same thing: a site that says clearly who you are, what you do, where, and why you can be trusted. Pixexl handles the technical side on every deploy; the content side comes from your knowledge.

What every deploy does for you

You don't need to set any of this up. Each time you deploy, your site gets:

  • Fast, plain HTML pages, served from a global CDN, which search engines read easily.
  • Titles, descriptions and a canonical address on every page, plus link previews (Open Graph) with your sharing image.
  • A sitemap and robots.txt, listing the pages search engines may index and leaving out the ones you hide.
  • Structured data (schema.org) built from your business profile: your business as an Organization, or a LocalBusiness when it has an address, with contact details and opening hours; FAQPage on pages with FAQs; the author of an article from its Byline block; and breadcrumbs.
  • llms.txt, a plain list of your pages for AI assistants, and a Markdown copy of every page, so AI tools can read your content without the layout.

What only you can add

Search engines and AI assistants rank and quote sites that show who is behind them, answer questions directly and back claims with numbers. That has to come from you:

  1. Fill in your business profile in Chat → Knowledge. The Website readiness score lists what's missing and why it matters. See Improve your Website readiness score.
  2. Write a title and description for each page. See Page titles, descriptions and sharing images.
  3. Put the site on your own domain. Until it runs on your project's domain, the site is hidden from search engines, so a free address doesn't compete with your real one. See Connect a custom domain and Search engines and redirects.

How long it takes

Search engines usually find a new site within days and rank it over weeks. AI assistants that search the web pick up changes about as fast; what they "know" without searching updates much more slowly. Keep the profile accurate and consistent with your other listings (Google Business Profile, directories, social pages): matching facts everywhere is what makes engines confident it's you.

Let your website answer for you.

We set up your assistant and site with you, usually within a day. Then your first 2 weeks are free, with real visitors.
